I have started to plan out a small ICE install for the car and thought that I might find a few good ideas on the forum. I have noticed that there is a lack of MKIII photos with boot & interior shots of their installs. So come on everyone post your pickkys on this thread so that I can pinch some of your ideas
No install in mine either really, in the true words of an "install" anyway.
Clarion HU
Clarion 90w 5 1/4" front speakers (to be fitted when I get my door pods)
Clarion 6-disc changer (mounted inside the car, hidden)
Clarion 360w amplifier (mounted on the back of the bench in the boot)
Panasonic 6x9s parcel-shelf (soon to be hidden)

Currently on my 3rd set-up comprising:
Sony Minidisc H/U
Infinity Kappa 32.5cf dash speakers
Infinity Reference 9603i 6 x 9s in a custom stealth shelf
Other set-ups have included the same headunit and dash speakers, but Pioneer 6.5" rear speakers and prior to that Pioneer 6 x 4 custom fit speakers.
Though the set-up I have now is definitely staying, and I hope to add doorpods and sub and amp to my current Infinity set-up.
Karl.

Mine's not really got an install either.
I've got:
JVC KD-SH99 MP3 head unit
Kenwood 10cm speakers (dash modified to make them fit)
Ancient Sony amp in the boot which looks like it's been in a fight (but it works)
Infinity Kappa 6x9s in a stealth shelf
My boot install consists of a humidity absorber, broken glass and a multimeter.
Which is why you never see pics of my boot.

sorry, the photos I'd have would be crap, as i went for subtlety...
but...
IS: Standard blaupunkt 10w HU, standard nasty VW paper cone speakers (ew, but i'm selling the car)
WAS: Sony 4x40W RDS/Cass D-Bass headunit, nice bit of kit, JBL 326e's up front (some of the few mkIII sized full rangers you can get), and a somewhat bodged stealth shelf at the back with home hi-fi speakers in (impedance was too high, but if i'd ever shelled for an amp to overcome it, and a small sub, it would have rocked)

this is my build...
Did this just after the meet as i was sick of it looking s**t, hope you all like it, took me quite a bit of work and effort but im pleased with the end result...
Thought id lean on the old box to ad insult to injury!
fitted the sides after making a Jig
Covered the box and sides in alacantara
Then built the bottom and tucked the new amp in
And this is how it stands
