GT130pd and lovin it

Post by RichardBW »

hello all,
swapped my Leon FR last week for a Polo GT in an effort to reduce running costs. I commute about 160miles a day and thought the Polo may be a bit small for this but NO, the seats are actually more comfortable and the car is generally more fun to drive all round.
Already mapped it, suspension and intake mods next I think (good job I know the dealer very well for the servicing and warranty side of things  )
I have spent too much time on the usual VAG forums in the past so if you dont mind I will hang out here for a while :D

Nice to hear how much you like your GT. I nearly bought one when I bought my Sport at the vw dealers a month ago., but in the end i was swayed by the kit the sport had on it. They do feel better to drive than my old golf did. Did you have your remap done locally.. :?: (Glos.)

Not quite a GT here but the same engine :)

I'd be interested in knowing who did it and the power outputs too.

Cheers 8)

I remapped it and programmed it myself. I estimate 175bhp with probably 285ish ftlb. I will work on the software a bit more to perfect it as I can test this one every day. I will pick up the air intake parts this week and once they are on I will tweak the mapping to suit.
A FMIC will also come later in the same style as the Forge Ibiza and Fabia ones. Also looking at altering the EGR valve body and piework to free things up. My aim is to break the 200bhp barrier but keep torque below 290ftlb as I dont want the expense of a clutch just yet.

still no delivery of the pd160 air intake parts : (
looks like its a common mod now and we have caused a back order. I might make my own intake if this hasn't arrived by next Wednesday.
