What are the signs of a failing Pedal Box?

When I bought my polo, i had an RAC check-over done. THe pedal box had gone, causing poor gear selection and the clutch travel suffered.

Dont know if this is any help?!

mine whent it grinds when u select gears and some time desides to pop out of gear when it wonts. best way to find out is take it to a garage and get them to cheek. vw wanted 500quid to fix the problem i got i done 4 Â£200 hope this is some help

Also I know the clutch goes hard...Altho it still works its wearing out slowly...

the signs i had were
clutch becoming very stiff
was hard to change gears- had to really push them in hard and then they would grind.
brakes not bein that good

those are the signs i had anyway

crunching when going into gear , my clutch is always hard and thats mine fixed. Got it done for Â£180 i think

my clutch is quite stiff and its quite hard to put it into gear sometimes, i hope mines isnt f****d aswell - i jus got it

Do not panic just yet... When the clutch fails you will know about it. The car doesn't pull when the clutch is gone, so untill it reaches that stage there's no need to panic or take any action.
