I hope so :? , iam pretty sure it does. How much did you pay for your cambelt change :?:
I didn't plan on getting mine changed. I had to get my head gasket done so the mechanic done it FOC as he said it makes no difference to him whether he puts back an old or new part, so I thought might aswell. Labour £150 + parts. (About £250 all in) So that price isn't too bad, but if you're not in a rush I'd shop around a little more just to get an average price, so you get an idea what you should be paying.

The £293.75 was the cheapest out of 4 quotes, all VW Audi specialists or VW dealer garages in my area.

So basically when the cambelt is changed, the tensioners and timing belt are done as well, but the water pump is seperate?

Sorry for my poor engine knowledge, I'm better with cosmetic advice

Hi

Post by Silverblue »

I just had my cambelt changed this week. I got a nice letter from the VW dealer say what they recommend. How nice of them to let me know. Well gave them a call a few days later to find out about a price. The price I got was £300 and that was just for the Cambelt & tensioners!. So called a specialist who quoted me £306.68 for the following:

Relay roller
Tensioner
Aux belt Tensioner
Timing Belts ( pair )
Cambelt Idler
Water pump and some new G12 antifreeze. :D

So decided to go with that as it sounded like a good deal
