The insides have just been sprayed black. Will reduce the light they put out. Not seen them for sale, only heard of people DIY'ing it and taking the headlight apart.

I have the 9n3 and want to paint the headlight black inside. If you take the light out does it not mess up the alinement??? I hope its a simple case of take out and put back, put ive been told that the screws on top of the light are adjusting screws as well as tightening screws??

I haven't had any problems with taking the headlight out completely as long as it goes back in properly (ie into the correct clips/wholes) and tightened up securely.

You're alright. You can just buy the GTI headlights as they are black.

Dino you forgot to include that you need to remove the bumper to get them off as well as on

Yep angel eyes! IF that's what you want go for them :)

Wont lie i've been tempted

However i prefer the slightly natural look and would go for buying or using your current. headlights.

Shove em in an over, get them apart and spray them. Bung em back in the oven and stick em back together again.

Sure the DIY guie on clublupo.co.uk would relate to this.

However I'm drunk....

but does that mean anything?? :?

I have those headlights in black.
You mentined painting black the half of the reflectors of the OEM headlights.
Well... Forget it!!! You have to teke them out and then put them in the kitchen to warm them in order to soften the glue and be able to open them. Very hard job.

Where's your sense of adventure?

Besides all you can do is try, find your self another set of headlights (incase all does go wrong) and give it a go... can get a "practise" headlight off ebay for cheap enough... that's successful try it on your own ones or find a second hand set or buy new set.

It's been done before so can't be impossible.... maybe not as difficult as you say.

Can only try.
