Post by clees »

Can anyone help me, in the GTi you kindly ge a cd changer in the boot of your car as standard, however i no longer have the manufacturers cd player in my car now. Can the changer been linked up with a Sony head unit?

It may be possible, check ebay, you need a special lead and box of tricks for it to work I believe

The lead changes the vw plug into a sony cd changer plug and sometimes you need a little box of tricks inline for it to work with the sony headunit

edit: hmm plenty of stuff to allow sony cd changers to connect to a vw gamma headunit, but does not seem to be the other way round

I was under the impression that CD Changers are usually make specific, basically the manufacturer gets more money then.

For example if you buy a Pioneer H/U then you're going to need a Pioneer Changer, therefore more money for them.

I think the company is Connects2 or autoleads - they make the box of tricks to allow any changer

but I think this is looking like only for factory headunits and other brand cd changers

try looking on www.caraudiodirect.co.uk for a lead/box or something

Right, I've looked on CAD and the only one I've found allows you to connect an aftermarket CD Changer to the OE Sterero, not the other way round.
