personal registration plates

I picked one up yesterday what do you guys think of them? i always thought they were a bit cheesy (only because i could never get my name :D in any variation ie H4RRY, H14RRY, H11RRY), i got quite a good deal on a number which spells my sis in laws name yesterdays will be applying it later this week when the documentation comes through anyone on here got a funny number plate??

Kinda wish we had vanity plates. I mean, you've got them, but so do the Germans, Austrians, Belgians, etc. etc. Not us though.

Why would you want to put your sister-in-laws name on your car ?

so i can sell it to my bro for a profit hehehe only joking, i was looking for some names and ways of getting names out of the letters available and hers was the only reasonably priced one thought i'd get it will give it to her as a prezzie when she passes (if she passes...)

Nah, we're stuck with this rigourous system of one pair of digits, and then two pairs of letters. When the combinations run out, they simply change the pairs round a bit.

Too bad...

what if you import a car in, does that have to have it's plates changed?

Yep,

Imports are required to be tested and if approved, get a new reg number that fits the Dutch system... Lotta hassle to get it approved in the first place though :)

I've got 2 personal plates. One on the GTi, which near as damn spells my surname and the other is on my VR6 which again near enough spells GOLF.

For me its just a part of modding my car and personalising it to me. 8)
