Suspension

I have called around a few suspension suppliers and tuners and got the usual sales answers.
I have a Polo GT130 and require a fairly adjustable set up as it will have various other mods over the coming months. Can anyone recommend anything decent and advise where to get it from?

If you want an adjustable set up I would recomend an FK Highsport Coilover kit which lowers up to 85mm see link below

the fk's go down 120 i think for 'track' use

im sure they have to say 85 max to cover their own backs, but they go down more

It looks like FK will be my chosen route as they have plenty of choice and adjustability. I think 40-50mm drop will be quite adequate though. i may have to fit 4 space savers to get it any lower.

FK's are by far the best set-up. Ive had both high sport and Konig sport, If you can afford the extra go for Koing sports as I found that the pre-set dampers on the highsport where was still to soft for my liking, but thats my view!! I went around islands and you could feel the back end sliding out, but with the konig sports set to maximum hardness theres no sliding at all, just keep on feeding the power and it sticks to the island like glue!! I also paid extra to have the silverline x's which are stainless (Show quality and no rusting) rusting is a problem for coilovers when it comes to adjusting them down the line as the fine threads can jam the collers, stopping any adjustment(Just a heads up).

As for lowering, they will go the full 120mm on the front, but by just putting them as low as it will go on the back will not achieve the full 120mm. You must take the rear bottom cups totaly out, so all thats left is just a spring, but do this at your own risk as if the back wheels leave the ground, the springs will most definatly jump out, if you do decide to do this, make sure that you cable tie the springs to the rear axle to be safe.

I fitted my own FK's to my car(9n3) so if you need any help fitting them to yours, just give me a shout!

I should be ok for the fitting as I have access to a fully equipped shop.

The whole thing will not be going stupidly low as I have to cover 160 miles a day just to get to work and back, I need to keep it reliable as much as possible but be fun enough for the odd trackday.
