sorry to hear mate
what a bloody nice country we live in hey! makes me sick sometimes.
i remember the first time i put alloys on my old peugeot 106, that night i left it in town, came back from the pub and it had a huge dent in the side door (a foot mark!)
my tummy went all funny seeing it
Don't you just love some people I know the feeling and feel for you mate. On the first day of being out of the country for nearly 8 months. I took my Corrado out for a drive parked it up and it was broken into within 1/2 hour of being left. A nice welcome back the the UK.

What gets me is there nothing to steal, they opened the bonnet only thing there is a Black VW badge on the standard grile..........
Nothing was taken, there was nothing to take.............
It doesn't matter how good your alarm is. If some thieving Pikey wants to break into your car they will smash the window and be gone within seconds. I have put one of those PIR halogen spot lamp hear to my car in order to floodlight anyone who approaches. It has worked so far.......
Not exactly sure how they could start the car up with opening the engine bay, but im sure most new alarms have bonnet triggers for a reason! Another possibility is that they where trying to take the battery for drugs, they can use certain types of battery acid to cut smack etc.
Still waiting for the RAC to come sort the window out, I called them 840am to arrange the repair, just chased them up and they said they will get back to me.
