Cold Air Feed

Post by oscar olop gti »

Can anyone tell me or even post some pics of they engine bay ( if in standard form. i.e. no aftermarket airfilter or flexy pipe work).

Reason why, i was looking around my engine other day (was sunny & i could see things) & i found the cold air feed that comes in near the fog light.

Is there suppose to be any flexy pipe off this to the air filter, as mine has none. Which would suggest cold air is feeding foock all.

Any help appreciated :?

Thanks of the pic, kind of helps, but do you know what i am banging on about with the cold air feed MM, any flex pipe coming off yours to the air box, or is it the same as i have discribed. :?: :)

I think that the air feed you are on about, actually helps cool the engine! i noticed it when i was trying to find the best place for my BMC air feed. However, i have A/C which takes up a lot of room in the engine bay, so can't get the piping down to that sort of area! :x

Instead, i've cut a hole behind the grill, and fed my air feed from there!

I really asked this question because in the DIY section of the forum, Blackgti has pics of a BMC installation walk through, in one pic ( ninth down) he's got a flexy coming for that air feed. Just worried i was missing a piece of my jigsaw called an 'engine bay'

Thanks for the replies :D

You aint missin anything if you look behind the passenger side fog you should see a cone shaped piece of plastic which feeds cool air around the cat/engine etc!!
