Gearbox rebuilders in Sheffield

Post by Jordan142 »

Hi,

New to all this Polo stuff. So hi. Oh and cool forum too :D

Got my GT last week and it's got a problem with 4th gear. When I put it in 4th it knocks slightly when I lift or put down the throttle as if 4th gear is a bit "loose". Think it's cos the old dear who had it from new never used 5th so thats why 4th's worn. It's done 58k so I'm a bit gutted it's shot, but hey the rest of the car's mint so I'm happy.

Now I know it's not the sync, as I would struggle getting it in gear, but I'm thinking it maybe the pin thingy that keeps it in gear?

Anywho, can anyone reccomend a good gearbox specialist in the Sheffield area? I think I'm just gonna whip it out at the weekend and have it rebuilt.

Cheers dudes. :D

Hi

One of the best known gearbox rebuilders for polo's, especially G40's is JP Race at silverstone. I know it's not it sheffield, but I know they only specialise in gearboxes and they have done loads of polo's.
