Sports suspension or 16 inch wheels?

Right, crunch time

I've now thrown the new car idea out of the window, it would just be throwing good money after bad.

However, this means I can now make some mods to my car

Now, I can even buy a set of Barcelona wheels (to me Â£149 each) and leave it as is or keep the melbournes, add Sports suspension and colour coded door handles, mirror caps and bumper strips. It would look similar to the car below (except in Indigo blue pearl)

Looks sort of like that already, though the non-sports suspension don't do the wheels justice

Keeping the Melbournes would be the cheapest option.

Anyway, what do you think I should do?

I would do the suspension and colour code it, keep it looking sweet for a while, and when funds allow, do the wheels

Or, don't fit the OEM suspension and get an aftermarket kit. More drop for less money.

I had my wallet out ready to buy the var2 KW kit. Until the importer told me that the var2 is NOT hardnesss adjustable at the rear on the new polo - whats the point in having it just hardness adjustable at the front for Â£50 more? Is there one? I'm trying to decide.

well im sorry to say that your importer is wrong cos i run them and if i desire i can adjust them at the rear too but its not the same as at the front
front: open bonnet and fit tool onto top of strut
rear: raise car and remove coilover then remove all tension on the spring and remove "strut bearing" remove string and a little plastic collar completly compress the damper and turn to adjust (then refit it all) remember though when the rear is removed its 1x18m,m bolt at the bottom and 2 or 3 13mm at the top
its quite a hassle but if you set the rear to 2/3 hard then it should ride quite well thats what i run at the back and then i adjust the front to dial in over steer or under steed depending on my mood

But aren't you running 6N suspension? Possibly different on the 9N? Don't know tho. I need to speak to KW in the week.

What's the deal with the supply of offical VW wheels.

While sitting in my dealer this morning, I had a good look through their accessories catalogue and couldn't see any of the more "desirable" wheels. Raves, Cosmos, lots of wheels that look cheap and after-market were there, though. They did mention the Exor wheels, but no price listed??

I'm currently toying with the idea of some san marinos, barcelonas for the polo, or maybe investigating the possiblity of something off the golf range (25th ani, anyone? - i can dream!) - but again, the wheels you see on other forums, weren't in this catalogue.

So, I'm wondering what's the deal?

Are some wheels only available as factory fit options (i.e. at time of purchase)?

If I wanted, say, a set of san marinos, would my dealer be able to supply them??

Does anyone know?

The polo 6N suspension at least at the back is different from de 9N.

The 9N is almost the same as the Golf MK4

Yes, but only if you had a wallet the size of the Grand Canyon!! Those wheels are nearly Â£350 each!! You are much better of going for the Barcelonas at Â£200 each. Or Â£149 to me
