Hi, was wondering which K&N is best for my car (1.2 12v) I had a quick look under the bonnet and it seems that the airfilter is awefully close to the engine, surely this means massive heatsoak issues. Does the K&N 75i Kit move the filter away from the motor? or is it just the filter that bolts on to the existing pipe work and i'm better off just getting a replacement element and maybe using a cold air feed. Any pics would be great!
thanks,
panda.
K&N, Which is best?
Hi panda i`ve had induction kits in the past and didn`t think it improved performance infact the opposite IMO and they get bloody oily and dirty too
only induction kit i had that i liked was the pipercross forced one on my vts cost me 230quid at the time tho
, i`ve got a fastflow k&n in mine just now which seems to work quite well and green do one too if i remember correctly, good luck m8 which ever you choose

I have the 55 1.2 and have an K&N 57i which is very similar to the 65 one.
It comprises of a top hat filter that goes directly on top of the throttle neck so it does away with the big airbox/engine cover altogether and doesn't look as neat of course which was one of the things I wasn't too sure on.
However, the induction kit does give it a bit more kick and a hell of a lot more noise but good noise you'll be glad to know. I think it's freed up the high end a little bit as the dial sweeps accross the rev counter a bit quicker where it used to just die at about 4,500rpm. As for the heatsoak I thought that would be the case but it comes with a cold air feed that points to the filter so its alright.
In my opinion I dont regret getting the K&N 57i because if it hasnt improved on power that much it sounds brilliant and I think K&N is the only one who do an induction kit for that car.
Hope that has helped.
