Haven't got round to getting the tracking done yet, I've replaced the lift pump although the new one is still making a bit of noise.. no idea what's going on there. It's all working alright though so no real worries for now, I'll give it a proper service once I get back from uni :)

:lol: who WOULDNT want to be in an 80s cop flick? get yourself one of those stick-on battery powered disco lights that you can reach out of the window and put on the roof :lol:
make sure its green, yellow or purple only though

Looks completely spanking clean already dude, that's a good buy there - add a radio and a quick engine bay steam clean (or a wipe-around with a box of Kandoo :roll:) and it'll be minted.

No doubt it'll be looking OEM-Plus gorgeous within a year hehe

OEM+ is very much the way it shall be going.. although to be honest I'm struggling to think of how to make it better than factory standard. This of course will be the first stop on the restoration trail :D Only needs a bit of a clean, touch up some chipped paint, alloy refurb and a steam clean/kandoo wipe :lol:

First, though, I think I probably ought to fix the fuel pump, as it actually cut out completely last week on london road in reading (london road being the big, busy 3 lane road that runs right through the heart of reading - not the place you really want the car to stop! Had to get some mates to push me into the royal berks hospital car park, very embarassing!). Still, I should get that done tomorrow so no huge worries there 8)

Nah, seriously, I'm having trouble finding anywhere to sensibly use the kind of power it's putting out at the moment, and this engine is pretty seriously economical (38.2 mpg from a 17 year old 1.8? Not too shabby!), so I think it'll be a while before I start going down that route.
Right now I've got some pretty pressing matters to deal with, in that I replaced the fuel pump today and it's still grinding and cutting out, so I've got a mystery problem now, plus I managed to rupture a fuel line in the process losing half of the tank which I'd just filled up this morning :evil: Think I've really got to deal with this before I start thinking of what else I can do with it :wink:

Yeah, still got it.. really need to sell it though :( Going to have to start advertising it locally soon. Definately do not want to ebay it, it's far too good for that..

Went and fired the polo up earlier to check that all was well. The battery is completely dead, and it's blowing blue smoke :( I don't really want to be forking out for a new battery and an MoT that I know it'll fail on emissions, so it's now selling for £50, spares or repairs :(
I only just spent £60 on the interior, and repaired the bolsters in the drivers seat. Added to that the alloys, almost brand new tyres which set me back around £150, and all the other bits and bobs I've done to it over the years, and it's a real bargain. Or, the car is as solid as anything if you've got a half decent engine to go in it.. would much rather sell for this purpose, but if I must sell it for breaking then that's where it'll go :(

I would, but my parents wouldn't be happy with a broken car sitting on the driveway while I was doing it unfortunately. If it comes to taking it to the scrapyard then I'll take out bits like the interior and sell them on, but I don't want to be fiddling around with odd bits that aren't really worth much.
