LED Replacement Door Pins

Post by ximon »

as many know the door pins are a security issue, so i replaced mine with red 8mm leds to fit in with my scheme, fit as below:

note: will only work if you have the always on power windows bridge installed
( jumper between pins 30 and 87 in relay socket 113 )

remove door panels, drill door pin hole out to width of led holder,
bout 10mm in my case, connect the negative side of the led( flat side) to pin 5 of your electric mirror connector, and the positive side to either of the wires via 600ohm resistor to the window motor ( both positive when not moving window )

if your car doesnt have electric mirrors installed, attach a solder lug to with a small bolt to your door somewhere as a ground.

Can this be explained in abit more detail as i have no idea on half of what you posted

First of all I don't understand - splice in some wire to a wire leading to the window motor

and also - the wire from the mirrors is negative and the one from the window is negative !

where do you get the possitive feed from then etc etc

last but not least - join to led with bout 600ohms resistor !

:D

could they not be wired to an immobilizer light or something like that from an after market alarm?? thinking about doing this as door security is quite important lol
