Hi folks just signed up thought id say hi

Been on Club polos forum for a while, thought it was time to strech my legs :D

Currently driving a MK2 Coupe S VW Motorsport Edition, been renovating it as the old rot had taken its tole over the 20 years of life.

When i bought it 18 months ago

Not sure yet im gonna estimate around 90-95bhp but will be nice and revvy :D

hi there and welcome to uk-p, been admiring your car on clubpolo for a while mate...are those arches an original thing then? i assumed you'd just done major arch extensions.

i think it looks really cool how the bumper fits into the wing 8)

and mmmm nothing better than seeing a freshly re-built engine IMO :wink:

can't wait to see it when it's all finished :D

Yep the arch are moulded fibre glass panels produced by VW motorsport the each have an individual VWM part number stamped on the underside.

Through a bit of research they only produced 500 between 1985 and 1987 mines a 87 D reg, they came out the fatory with a mk2 G40 motor, but mines been lost over the years and was bought with a coupe s motor.

shame about the G40 lump missing.... but im sure that its gonna go like F**K when you put the new one in!

welcome along mate!! i have never seen a vw motorsport edition polo like that before!!! could it be more rare than a mk3 g40 possibly??

looks like the renovation is going well, keep up the good work!!

i think the alloys in the second pic look better than the original pic!!

Not a great deal I would imagine, if someone was prepared to rob the G40 lump from yours then they cant have thought it that rare. Shame

Yours is probably the only one in the Uk, hope to see it turning some heads at shows

twin 40's are the way

i had twin 40's on my coupe went like stink and was the best for the high revs
