Nice car there - I've said it before on this forum and I'll say it again -- imho, Mercato Blue is *the* colour for the 9n.

Deek.

Don't wish to burst your bubble toxxin, but bear in mind that the Ibiza is quite a bit heavier than the MK6 Polo, so while I have no doubt they'll fit, I doubt theres much chance a 9n with them on will sit dead on 30 mil either...

Nice Car!
I'd like to remove the badges from the rear of our Polo as well but I'm terrified of causing damage. Also, the badges would have to go back when selling the car. I presume they are stuck on so is there a safe, easy way of doing this?

Re removing badges.....

Ok quickly as its been done before many times!
Using a hair dryer heat up the badge. I'd suggest doing it in a garage or on a warm day - not outside on a winters night!
Then slowly using some dental floss/cotton, behind the badge, work your way down "sawing" the adhesive. Then you'll be left with some adhesive on the bodywork. This will come off with a bit of work, and as long as you're careful, won't cause any damage at all.

Neil, sorry to sound picky but the Ibiza is actually lighter than the Polo!

1.2 (55bhp) Polo - 1100kg V 1043kg - Ibiza 1.2 (55bhp)
1.4 (75bhp) Polo - 1183kg V 1087kg - Ibiza 1.4 (75bhp)
1.4 (100bhp) Polo - 1190kg V 1116kg - Ibiza 1.4 (100bhp)

My VW figures are from the MY04 Polo brochure and the Ibiza figures are from the MY03 brochure. The weights are kerb weights.

OK, my bad  But I still wouldn't risk putting them on a 9n as the are specifically designed for the Ibiza. Isn't there a 6L messageboard yet you can flog them on? Why not put them on your new car :P

LOL 1-0 to toXXin :P

Springs are the same on both cars, so I'm told.

I would use them on the TDi but TDis use different suspension and I want coilovers now.

Hi,
just found out about this forum from a link on porka.net so this is my first post. From what I've seen so far this has to be the best forum on the web for discussion on the new polo. I'm picking up my 5dr 1.2 65 Twist next weekend which is also in Mercato Blue with the colour pack :D Does anyone know if the Fabia exhaust tip will fit on the 1.2 exhaust ? Do you just get them from Skoda dealers?

P8KSY: I see that your car originally came with the Sao Paulos alloys and then you upgraded to the Barcelonas. How much did they cost? I really wish I'd ordered them on my car - they make it look much cooler. My car arrived at the dealers today and when I went down to have a look, on the back it just had a 1.2 badge (not the Twist one that I've seen in the promotional material). Does the dealer just take off the 1.2 one and replace it with a Twist one? If so I think I'll ask them not to bother and just remove the 1.2 one.

Mercato Blue definitely is the best colour for the new polo (especially now i've seen P8KSY's photos). It looks really similar to the colour of my other car, a BMW Clubsport Coupe in Estoril Blue. Check out these pics to compare

Nice BM Atlantis.

I work for a main dealer so managed to upgrade the wheels from one of our demo cars, there is no way to upgrade them at the factory.

There was a set on here for sale but I think the guy wants too much for them.

The twist badge is put on by the dealer, I had all mine taken off as I think they clutter up the tailgate.

Heres mine now with 35 % tints.

I got the tip from a Skoda dealer for about £18, I did put it up to a 1.2 so it will fit.

I think it finishes the back off well, to be honest it looks better on the car than off so dont be put of when you first see it !!

Here is my dash with the cubby box mod, 6 disc CD and phone kit fitted.
The phone is wired through the radio so there is no need for a extra speaker and the radio cuts out when the phone is in use I also have an internal glass mount aerial so that cannot be seen from outside.

KarlM: Yeah you were the one that mentioned this newsgroup on porka.net. Thanks for the intro :D

P8KSY: Cheers for the info. I'll be off down to my local Skoda dealers tomorrow to get the exhaust tip (oh the shame  ). Your car looks really good with the roof spoiler and tints. It's got me into modding my Polo before I've even picked it up.

The Barcelona wheels were a £700 option - it seems that VW didn't take into account that Twist buyers may want to upgrade and choose not to discount the other alloys in lieu of the Sao Paulos. I think I'll have to try and sell the Sau Paulos and get some used Barcelonas (or maybe some new Raves).

BTW: Does anyone know how difficult it is to fit the VW Front loading CD player (the one that's £204) :?: Is it somethink that I'll have to get my dealer to do, and if so how many hours fitting are we talking? I don't think I can survive with just the Beta tape deck, and I just wasn't willing to pay £400 for the factory 6 CD changer.
