Morning folks!!
Does anybody know roughly how much it is for a new steering wheel for the GTI?
Also, how easy it is to get hold of one??

for your info, a new steering wheel will not include the airbag in the middle, can swap over your current one, if your VERY careful

Last time I enqiured the steering wheel without the airbag was 150 ish.
You can't get the airbag cause they can't ship it to you (its considered potentially explosive) Even if you could get the bag it would cost you loads.
I'm thinkin of replacing the steering wheel, and a bunch of other things.

Could you not just get the steering wheel retrimmed, if it's the leather part that has worn?

I suppose so?? what would the process be?? Would it be a case of cutting the stiching and then re-coating it with fresh leather....etc?

I'm not big on interior stuff mate, guess it depends on how easily the standard leather comes off etc.
I've been toying with the idea of getting mine retrimmed in dark grey or black alcantara, as the leather is looking a bit shabby.
