Clutch cable broken

Today is my black Friday :cry:
my clutch cable just broken this night.................
I can take out the broken cable so easy from the engine bay :?
Anyone have this bad experience??

Yes, this happened to me once - at traffic lights, was about to change in to gear and it just snapped, leaving the pedal moving freely and cars behind me having to go around, as I could not move the car :(

Pushed car to the side of the road and had to call for recovery, who fitted a temp clutch cable so I could get home, then I had a proper VW part fitted.

You could replace it yourself without too much hassle! :idea:

£25-30 ish I believe

not an expensive part

Yeah my clutch cable failed about a year or so ago. Replaced by VW under warranty :wink:

Bit of a pain in hte arse when you can't move the car though, luckily I was on a side street at the time and had enough momentum to get the car parked up at the side of the street out of harm's way :)

Today just buy a new clutch cable, cost HK$550=£39
And the labour fee charge HK$300 =£21

Total cost £60, I think it's ok.
So happy to get back my car :D
