Two questions:

[a] why has the car got circa 2000 'W'-plates on? :?

and was it customary not to fit a passenger-side wing mirror back in '83? :)

Otherwise it looks in great shape for it's year, and a great low mileage too. Nice find!

Putting that plate in I get this result on the Vehicle Licensing Agency.

Vehicle details could not be found

As it has not been possible to locate the vehicle details, your enquiry cannot proceed and has been cancelled

It says in the listing it's an Isle Of Man import, imported in 2000 hence the W plate :)

I thought with imports though, they stuck a plate on from the year the car was made :?

Still, it looks like a nice example anyway

No chance he will get that sort of money! A mint F reg (I think) coupe, with same sort of miles went for aproxx £800-£900 on ebay about a month ago. Would be a cheap show car, Slam it on some fat 13's and you've got a show winner for not alot of pennies!

Hmm....... thats an idea! :D

hahah sweet... be suprised if it went for more than a grand though.

Looks a bit of an odd colour though, it looks new but old at the same time?

Nope, and it's still not actually a legal requirement

Passenger wing mirrors were only standard on the higher model polos back in the day ;) And personally I think the W plate is pretty cool, bit of novelty :D
I do find it slightly interesting that he's selling it as a 1400.. presumably a typo though. Very nice looking car otherwise, although I don't see it getting his buy it now price.
