I wouldn't have thought so mate, even with it being the same frequency it won't open your car otherwise we'd all be getting into anyone's Polo.

I suppose the reason people rip their key apart and stick it in the other one is because their key is programmed to their car, correct me if I'm wrong.

I have the black plastic key but can anyone tell me is the radio code in the manual or can i find it anywhere not sure if have seen it anywhere?

I remember reading a post either here or club polo where a mk4 golf owners key fob also opened his mk5 polo.

Sent it now...

I think the blank on eBay will be the cheapest... then just getting the blank key blade cut and the key programmed should be cheaper also

Sorted, I think I might see about getting one then.

Then I just pop to VW and say can you cut and programme this right?

Not sure on the cutting bit, *think* a normal keyshop can cut the blade for you, as its just a blade... the programming is defo done at a vw dealer or maybe you could take the chip out of your old key to save some cash
