Not sure about the option springs VW sell.
But VAG Parts sell VW approved (in germany at least) Eibach springs which give a IIRC 30mm drop.
Also, IIRC again, the sport springs give about 10mm drop.

Can someone please correct me if I'm wrong!

I've used KW adjustable suspension and I'm down about 65mm on the rear and 70mm on the front.

Hope this helps

Sports suspension is actually only a 5-10 mil drop (to keep some kind of ride quality I pressume) and if you were to fit the VW Approved Eibach springs the car would drop another 20 mil. So your looking around 25-30 mil lower for standard suspension and 15-20 mil lower for Sports suspension.

Trust me, you will notice it either way :)
