GTi & VAG-COM
GTi & VAG-COM
Can anyone tell me what can be sorted on the 6N2 GTi, with regard VAG-COM? I'd like anti-hijack, one-door unlock and alarm beep enabled when I get one.
Are these actually possible with the GTi? I know these were all possible on the Fabia, but then that's the same as a 9N Polo isn't it, so an earlier revision such as the 6N2 might not be able to have these features?
Can anyone shed any light?
Cheers,
Steve

Anti hi-jack is a pain in the arse. I have to agree with Ryan on that!
Its seems pretty cool but you get in the car start the engine and then your locked in. Personally its annoying whrn your picking people up or dropping them off. You have to deactivate it which is right annoying!
Numerous times have i dropped people off and forgot about it.......they try and open the door and can't! Birds are always the first to say......."you trying to lock me in, oh aye"

If the Fabia/9N anti-hijack system is anything to go by, it locks the doors at 7mph or above. Then if you're dropping people off, either hit the 'unlock' button on the driver's door, or the passenger can pull the door handle twice. As car-jacking is more prevelant now as modern cars are much more difficult to steal without the keys, I can only see the feature as a positive thing.
I might ask at the local stealer, see what the response is...

They will both work with the Polo, the big plug end is the bit that plugs into the cars diagnostic port and the other end is for the laptopRICHARD HARPER wrote:I wouldn't mind activating the alarm beep.
