noise from the rear

i know there are previous posts about knocking from the rear and i have read them but my noise is different.

it is more like a tapping or clinking sound from the n/s rear. ive had a look underneath but everything looks ok from what i can see. sounds to me tho as if it is something tapping on the heatsheild or from in behind the carpet in the boot

anyone had the same or know what it is? cheers guys

Yeah sometimes is sounds like its coming for the rear...

lol have a dub and expect the rattling and knocking

I've had the exact same problem. I've also had creeks coming from the front n/s strut too since I got it lowered. However, concerning the noise on the rear I took it back to VW and told them about it and they took my car for 3 weeks to get it checked out. It didnt bother me too much though cos I had the 1.4 (75bhp) as a courtesy car so I just hammered that for 3 weeks.

Initially they said it's a body creek whatever that is and they said it could be anything from suspension joint to a panel touching the chasis maybe. Either way, they didnt cure it because every so often i could hear it but it seems to have just disappeared thankfully.

Either way, I wouldn't worry about it because its not a big problem, its just annoying. Take it back and get a courtesy car.....its great fun. Good luck with it.
