mk1 for sale cheap

Post by russ.turner »

hi, due to needing space and lack of funds my mk1 polo is up for sale. it's mars red, 1981, done 60,000 miles, needs minor welding for mot and a few other bits to be 100%. it's a beautiful car, starts first time everytime. interior is stunning apart from a cigarette burn in the drivers seat. have been quoted £650 to make perfect. looking for sensible offers. photos at http://www.imagestation.com/album/?id=2128036207 get me at [email protected]

cheers, russ

mate you need to post this in the "For Sale" Section "Classifieds"

Also, you say you´ve been quoted 650 to make it "Perfect", what exactly are all the things that are needed to be done?

it needs a small amount of welding at the front corner of the nearside rear arch under the plastic trim (for mot). also some more bodywork, both rear corners of the front wings and both corners and the middle of the rear apron. the 650 was for all rust removed and new metal welded in. i have to stress that none of this is bad damage but that it does require some time spent by the bodyshop.

cheers

sounds like you want to forget about the rust.. its the same age as my MK1 and i have little rust..

as for the arches, mine was going to fail on that, but i just filled the wholes and bits with filler, which it then passed fine..

you want to take it to get its MOT at an garage specialising in older cars, or a non-official VW dealer, you cant MOT a car thats 25 or 26 years old to the same standards as brand new cars are expected to pass..

so 650 is the quote to do the job properly, that's what the old dear deserves
