Thanks everyone for your comments :)

Gary, for cleaning I use mainly Autoglym stuff. My soon-to-be brother-in-law is a regional reseller so I get good prices

That shine is acheived by using AG Supreme Polish, its basically the trade name for the recently-released AG Ultra Deep Shine, it gives superb results with black paint IMHO. Bodywork and alloys were cleaned with AG bodywork shampoo conditioner, tyres were dressed with some sort of AG Rubber Care product that I can't remember the name of, its good for instant shine but today looks crap! Need to find a different product methinks.

Andy, yeah I've got a couple of stone chips on the front of the car, and annoyingly discovered a few stone chips up the bonnet when I washed the car this weekend, don't know what I've managed to do but theres a lot more there now than there were at GTI Spring Festival! :x

I'd like to do what Phill did and get a black rear-view mirror for the interior, an effective and very very subtle change! 8)

Done about 100 miles today here and there and now have bugs over the front of the car, which will be geting removed tomorrow
