Tools for splitting BBS Splitrims

I'm after some advise.

I'm going to split my pair of BBS splitrims to refurb the outer rim, just wondered what bit i needed to split the rim's. I have searched the web for the VM8 Torq bit but cant find anywhere to get one! I found this set on machinemart's website, do you think it would include one?

i would also like to know, i take it your going to refurb the rim yourself?

Well i'v got a new set and are going to try to refurb my old set! can't be too hard once their apart. just need to know what bit i need to undo the bolts and where to get one from.

you can get one from halfords. Thats where i got mine. Just be carefull when removing the bolts as to not sheer the teeth or you will have a blooddy hard job drilling it out. i got down to the very last bolt and thats what happened.

i removed the centres by giving then a slight knock on the rear with a ball hammer

Yes that kit looks like it'll have it. Its the XZN M8 you need, they have lots of different names for the same thing.

The piece Ive used is Draper(r) 8x53mm 1/2"sq Driver Multi Spline Bit Set

Draper part number: MSB3
stock number: 12768

You can use it with any socket set!

I got it from the local car parts stoe Auto Discount for under a fiver!

Hope that link works, anyhow, i just got my 2nd spline bit from my local car spares supplier, its made by Laser and was £4.95 and it came with the M8 & M12 Spline bit and a 1/2" drive too
