BBS RX2 Split Rims

Post by CBurns »

Could someone give me some advice???

I'm a new member (that new that i don't pick my Polo GTI up until 5 o'clock on Friday 3/10) and will be replacing the wheels that are currently on my polo.

I have been told that they are 15 inch BBS RX2 Split rims (i sound so new to this!!), and are in very good condition, with good tread on each tyre, however, i am not sure what price to advertise them for sale at.

If you could give me a reasonable price (possibly one that you have paid already) so that i do not put them for sale at too high a price (or too low for that matter).

I know that this is a weird request and that there will be a number of people who will try to get me to sell them for cheaper than i should, but this seems like a reasonable site and hope someone can help me.

Cheers

IIRC the RX2s sell for about £800 a setbrand new. Josh is probably the best person to ask.

Personally i'd stick them on Ebay for £500.

What I want to know is what are you swapping them for? The BBS ones are pretty nice to look at already!

I'm sure there will be someone willing to snap them off you...

If you wanted to buy the wheels new, they cost £300 + VAT each :!:

If I were you, I'd hang onto them. Just think about when you come to sell your car.

Welcome to the forum.

I'm considering putting on 17inch Audi RS4 style alloys on it, a company in Hamilton sells these in the correct fitment, and it doesn't need any work done on the arches.
I tried a set on it on Friday Night and they look well smart, however, i was possibly going to put wider rims on the wheels i've got but i'm not sure who would sell these?

the originals were in 5 stud (and in 18 iirc)

but there are now a few companies building replicas in many ETs and PCD fitments

I have now been advised against putting the 17 inch RS4 style alloys on the GTI and I am in agreement that the BBS RX2's are really nice but would like to put a wider rim on the alloy.

I have been told that you can buy wider rims but do not know where from can anyone help and if so how wide can you actually go??

CBurns, you still wanting to get rid of your original GTI BBS split rims? Sounds stupid but i am in desperate need of one of these - bad curb accident the other day you see! If you have decided to keep hold of them no problem, anybody any suggestions of wheres best to look?
