http://www.tigerstyle.co.uk/poloforum/v ... hp?t=21806
it basically says will the gti exhaust from the cat back fit my standard 1.4 8v and will it make a different, better noise?
if so has anybody got one lying around?
thanks

Hmm, interesting question.
The GTi exhaust isn't particulary loud in my opinion. I'm not entirely sure how different the two systems are, but I would have thought they would have been designed specifically for each engine. Therefore swapping them about might not produce any positive results.
Also, in cost terms it might be better value to have a custom system built.

IIRC the stock GTi exhaust is 2" (aka 50mm) in diameter, not sure if that is larger or smaller in diameter to an exhaust of a smaller-engined car?
You could have had mine but the guy who did my powerflow cut it up to show me the internals, its a bit of an odd backbox! Looks almost like a petrol can in shape with a sort of valve on it, all very strange. Shame I didn't take any pictures as it is very difficult to explain without them!
