So the Gol continues! China gets all VW's old models I guess, with the addition of a stretched B5 Passat.

...and they also have the Santana and Santana 2000.

I guess they modified the Gol a bit: "The Shanghai Volkswagen (SVW) Gol was specially designed for China and its road conditions (...) With its graceful appearance, spacious interior, superb quality, excellent safety and eco-environment protection"
http://www.svwsc.com/english/products/gol.asp
They also write that one out of every five cars sold in Brazil is a Gol.

Alex,

Yes, the car is already in production here, altought the models produced in the factory located in "Sao Jose do Pinhais" will be destinated for local market (and probably South America). The export models (Europe) will be made in the factory located in "Sao Bernardo do Campo".
Another item that should be added are the side direction lights(?), and I bet that they will be placed in the side mirrors. The Fox is all Polo-based and all items offered in Polo (ABS, ESP, Air Bags) should be offered in Fox too. Some of them are mandatory fou Euro-market.

The plans for Gol here are to keep a real cheap version as an entry-VW, and price the Fox between top Gols and basic Polos. That´s the first step to Gol´s retirement. Personally, I think the gol is really getting old...

This might be interesting

It's about the installation of the machines to produce the Fox. Unfortunately the google translation is not very good...

The official presentation of the brazilian version of the fox will take place today(15) and tomorrow(16) in São Jose dos Pinhais/BR. To celebrate (and get additional space in midia, of course), VWoB presented two conceitual versions of the Fox

The "Fox Pepper" is 40mm lower than stock versions and is fitted with 17-inch wheels and 215/40 tyres.

The "CrossFox" is 46mm higher than normal versions:

BTW, there are no plans to make these regular versions.
