You can't beat the sound of a BMC. It sounds sort of like a Subaru.

I was on the fone to my mate,(hands-free of course) and started booting it. He said it sounded like a V8 lol. Honestly it's that good. 8)

The sound is superb.

Like Del says it's low and burbling bottom end, but then becomes a 'waaaaaaaaap' noise as the variable valve stuff kicks in.

And it's fairly loud outside the car, I go looking for tunnels to drive through now.

oscar olop gti wrote:Has anyone used a Simota induction kit :?: Looks the same as the BMC kit.

Saw one on Ebay few months ago, got out bid :(
Got one on my GTI, Rev smoother and rev up faster than stock filter,
when it comes near 5000 or above, it runs wild and louder,
feel like no restriction between 5000-6900rpm at all.
low end torque pretty much stay the same.
I bought from a guy from Taiwan for about GBP$88 a set,
but need a littel modifly, cause the kit was ment for 1.4 engine.
With lovely alloy piping, and the quality is quite good.

And what's the material that you've used where the standard airbox would be?

BTW the other bit looks like an oil capture tank from the breather.

If it is i could do with 1 of those, it stinks in my car at idle when you stop moving.

The car from first picture is belongs to my mate "HK6N2",
the tank at the front is oil catch tank.

The second picture one is mine,
I also fitted a DIY custom catch tank, just right behind
the airbox. And it's routed back to the intake, so there won't be
any smell.
