Has anybody else experienced squeaky door seals?
Scorpio1 mentioned on Saturday that he had the problem, and on the way to his house, I had the same problem
Yeah, I've had the same problem. They were adjusted under warranty but when one of them started rusting they didn't re-adjust them and now the drivers side is squeaking again It doesn't really bother me that much anyway now.
Well I tired silicone spray and made it 50x louder in the end.
The best (and only solution I can see) is a little bit of grease applied all along the very top door rubber, (where it meets with the metal) and this should makes things better. The rubber has a sort of fluff on it.
Also, a little bit of grease of the door latches and hinges won't hurt either, and also, apply some grease on the metal seat runners, not only does this makes it smoother, but might stop possible creaks in the future.
I sprayed WD40 on a rag and rubbed it on the seals (including the fabric type seal at the top of the door. This stopped the squeaks for a bit. The squeaks were certainly worse in warm weather. Didn't realise that VW would change them under warranty. Silicon spray was useless.
Incidentally do three door Polos squeak more than five door because the door is bigger and flexes more? Our Polo has three doors.
I'm not sure about squeaking (this is [the] one problem my car doesn't have!), but I have had to get the passenger door re-aligned because it shifted on its hinges, and the driver's door has just recently started letting a lot of wind noise through from somewhere around the b-pillar.
Ok cheers all.
Sprayed them with some silicon spray and it never sorted it, then I did as bertj said, I sprayed the fabric type seal at the top of the door and it seems to have sorted it
