Does anyone know where i can find a post telling me if polo has vvti or not and when it kicks in etc :(
Isaw one ages ago and tried searching for it with no sucess.

(Need to settle a bet with one of my mates who says the polo gti has no vvti) :(

Do a search mate, theres loads of info about it...but may aswell just tell you now:

Yes, it has VVT, it kicks in at 3500rpmish (you can hear a little noise)

Valves are fully open around the 5k mark i believe?

So go and get that money off your mate :wink:

Above post is indeed correct, the system is pretty similar to hondas VTEC system. Not sure how I would prove it, but you can hear the engine roar louder as it hits 4.5-5k revs.

Yeah the engine note changes when the revs get above 4000rpm. With an aftermarket exhaust I've found that the changeover is more noticeable, don't now if other GTi owners with custom exhausts can back that up?

It's certainly more noticeable if you have a BMC fitted. 8)
