Why does the alarm go off when you open the doors manually?

Yep, daft isn't it? Find the whole alarm system a bit annoying really. On mine if you unlock the car and then just open the boot, the car doesn't seem to recognise this and re-locks itself after the 45 sec period or whatever it is. So if you're still sorting stuff in the boot, the alarm then goes off!!!
Does this happen to everyone else?

The car will Lock itself if you unlock the car and make no attempt to open the doors or the boot. I'm guessing that maybe a sensor is broken in yours, unlock the car, open and close the door and then see if it does the same.
About the car alarm going off when you use the key, thats pretty annoying. I had that happen a few times when my remote central locking fob has become un-synced with the car.

That could be it to be honest. It doesn't do it if I open a door first. But that gets a bit annoying when you're bogged down with a load of stuff to put in the boot! Anyone know where the boot opening sensor is located? So I can see if it's damaged or sticking.andyg wrote:The car will Lock itself if you unlock the car and make no attempt to open the doors or the boot. Mine stays open, if I don't open anything it re-locks itself, but if I open the boot it stays unlocked.Wardy wrote:Give it a try - unlock the car, open the boot - stand back and see what happens. If you're still standing there in silence after 2 mins, you're OK![]()
Would be interested to see if yours re-locks itself though.
