Baffled

Post by oscar olop gti »

The baffles seem to have gone in the back box. Anyone got any ideas of the cost for a back box :?: Dealer part or non dealer part.

Just booked the car into garage to get my lowering springs fitted aswell, don't know if i should get the exhaust sorted instead :? :(

When I had my Powerflow exhaust done I went back for some changes to be made to the tailpipe. On this visit the guy showed me the backbox on my old OE system and he was intrigued by it's design - cut it open for me to have a look. Its a shame I didn't take some pictures but it looks pretty complex!

My Powerflow was £210 Chris, fitted. If you want a backbox that involves having a tailpipe that exits the rear bumper, it'd be about £260 or so. Still slightly cheaper than the OEM exhaust and with a Powerflow you get the added advantage of a lifetime gaurantee on the system for as long as you remain the owner of the car! Anything goes wrong with it, it will be fixed gratis.

When you get around to replacing the system, it's worth a look.

Alternatively, a Powerflow dealer can do just the back box on its own for a lower cost, if thats of interest? In fact any custom exhaust place (Longlife, Exhausts UK) can do it probably.

Let us know how you get on! PM me if you want more details on my Powerflow, I can give you the exact spec to have an identical system to mine made ;)

Cheers

I'm definately going to get a cat back stainless steel powerflow exhaust now.

If i just change the back box, know doubt another section of exhaust will funk up.
