My New Wheels

Post by WildChild »

Arrived today thanks to PhilJ, was a tad miffed off that i hadn't got my tyres today as well, but confirmation that my new 5 x 175/50 13" will be here on Monday :D

Anyway i wanted to see what they looked like so i popped round to a mates and got him to put em on my 145/80 13"s lol

so they don't quite look the same, but it gives u a rough idea (car is now also off the road for a new water pump)..

First Car, First Set of wheels :)

they are 5.5J 13" and will be on a set of Dunlop Sport 175/50 13" and next month will hopefully be lowered :)

I'm pleased with em anyway :)

They'll look cracking on some low-pro rubber. Good buy. 8)

£130 + £30 delivery

going on bigger tyres but im not sure whether to go for 165/60 13" / 165/70 13" or 175/50 13" as i've been told by loads of people that if i put 175/50 13" the car will have a much lower max speed..

maximum i really do is about 70-75mph baring in mind this is a 900cc 4 gear car!

will it really have that much of an effect? if so i'll go for the 165/60 or 165/70s

If you dont want to be going much over 75mph in your non-servo'd mk1 polo, you'll be fine on 175/50s - I used to top 80 every morning on my way to work on the same

Only real concern is that fuel consumption will go up a bit if you do a lot of cruising at 60+mph

as long as the fuel consumption won't go through the roof, i rarely do 60mph+, pretty much the only time is when im going to girlfriends.
