Advice on spraying bumper and alloy refurb

Decided to take a couple of days off over a weekend and going to attempt to refurb my alloys (using the guide on here) and sort out my front bumper as the paint is peeling rather badly. Now i know it's obviously much better to get a company to do these but i'm completely brassic and my thinking is that whatever i do has got to look better than how it is now!

Think i'm ok with the instructions for doing the alloys, but need help with the bumper. Can anyone tell me:

- Where to buy some reflex silver paint from? Also do i need special primer?

- What advice can you give me on prepping the area for paint?

IMO you're better off getting the bumper sprayed professionally, mine only cost me £150, it'll be better than doing it yourself, at least you should get a 100% colour match that way.

That's £150 i don't have! Surely it can't be that hard, and as i said whatever i can do has got to look better than it does now.

Unless you have a big enough area which is completely dust free, a lot of wet and dry, primer lacquer and paint.

The materials needed for spraying a whole bumper won't be cheap.

people think that spraying body panels is easy when it is actually extremely difficult especially to get a perfectly smooth even finish, i would save and get it done properly mate otherwise you will waste money by doing it yourself as you will inevitably need to take it to a bodyshop

DIY spray jobs never come up to scratch. A bodge looks worse that the damage IMHO and makes people think that you don't really care too much for your car. You may be able to make some savings by doing some of the prep and removing the bumper yourself as a lot of the cost will be labour. Some bodyshops will do the work for cash which will save a bit as well.
