Bootlid VW badge

Does the bootlid VW badge from a mk4 Golf fit an 9N? the p/ns are similar, just the golf begining is 1j6???

The MK4 Golf rear badge is the same as the 6N2 rear badge which I think is different to the 9N

The golf mk4 golf badge is slightly larger than the 9n, also it has a rubber ring around the outside, which wont sit in the 'hole' properly, i bought a black rear badge of a mk4 and found out the hard way.. all smooth now, and better looking imo, so it all worked out in the end.. hope this helps
