Anyone here got the "Chrome Boot Strip" for 9n?

Post by speedsix »

Im interested in getting this part but was wondering if any of you guys have this chrome strip fitted to your car? (pics please)

Also, if I got this part via VAGparts, would most dealerships fit it? (because its a genuine part, although non-UK part)

I had a cheap chrome/plastic one. was easy to fit - just backing tape off, boot strip on. I didnt like it tho - prefered the smoother look, so took it off. Sorry no pics. Andy Beard had one on his 9n - think he might have been selling it aswell not sure tho.

Cheers guys. Im still in two minds wether to go for it or not. I've got a silver 9n Polo and I think it would look pretty cool with it but im still not sure.

I've just noticed "NornIrons" topic in the members rides section. Does anyone know if her chrome boot strip is the genuine part?

You see if I got this part via VAGparts.com, would most dealerships fit it?

Mrs NornIron's is a genuine VAG part.

It takes 5 minutes to fit yourself, as it is self adhesive...give the boot lid edge a wipe with a panel wipe (or the alcohol wipe which is supplied with the strip), let it dry off and pop it on!

Easy peasy...

Its going to cost you so much to have a dealer fit the part, as above posts, it just sticks in place, not much to go wrong - unless you put it on wonky
