Tree branch fell on car..... : (

Post by TERENCE »

let me paint the picture for you.
just come back off holiday from dubai doing all the sand, sea relaxing and shopping stuff. got to the airport and got picked up by a new passat taxi which was very nice. :D
got home thru the door and the first thing my dad says
"erm...i managed to damage your car......"
rushed outside and looked for the damage.

2 dents in the roof
1 dent above the passengers side window
1 dent in the top of the tailgate above the brake light

took it to a local bodyshop today he said it'll cost me £700 to repair!

or i could claim it thru my insuranceand loose my no claims?

Help what do i do bar roundhouse kicking my dad in the face!

judo-chop him in the neck haha only joking

Phone up the insurance and see what they say keeping in mind you have to pay an axcess so in the long run might be cheaper fixing it yourself.
Also dont take the 1st quote you got, so look around see what other bodyshops say.

Good luck sorting it out

I had a boulder hit my car last week, damaging the bonnet, headlamp and foglamp, and the company who poorly loaded their lorry is refusing to pay out.

I know how you feel.

what exactly happened? your title says a tree branch fell on the car, but then in the story you just say your dad told you he'd damaged your car? :? obviusly it involves your dad, a tree branch and your car, just trying to get the picture right :)

as for this, i'd suggest getting someone that knows to do it for you or use a baseball bat maybe, more user friendly, trying the kick will probably involve you swinging, missing, smashing your car window, cutting your foot and falling on your ass

You need to take it to a small bodyshop. Im sure u can get it done cheaper.

I got damage on my car, gonna post the pics up. And im getting it fixed for £200 but i got quoted something like £500 from another place.

If its small garage they might do it off the books, so no VAT and cash in hand. Means you save money again

^^ What he said... find a smaller garage that will do it off the record...

But, Dont pay untill you are satisfied with the work....
