Some new pics of my 9N so far

Post by AKs_SlickPolo »

Few more pics of my 9N.

will be lowered more in a week or two 8) and am thinking to have the centres of the wheels done black, and the bump strips either smoothed off, keep them black or have them colour coded? I quite like them as they are too :-?

Still work in progress.... :D

VERY nice looks spot on. What rims are they? Keskins? I would leave the bump strips black I think it breaks up the paint well 8)

i really like that! you've painted the front and rear trims just like id did. makes the car look so much nicer!!

wheels really suit the car. dont paint the centre and leave the strips on the side 8)

Pardon my ignorance but when people say 'smooth' the strips what they mean? They already look pretty smooth to me?

Looking well tidy, man. Those wheels are mint - what are they?

I'd leave the centres as they are, if it were up to me (which of course it's not) - everyone's got black centres. Hang on, I've got black centres! Damn.

Either way it'll look mint

I'd keep the bump strips black, gives it contrast.

Plus I'm not a fan of smoothed stuff personally, tends to make the bumpers lose definition.

Car looks very tidy though :D

Looks cracking - you need to tell us what those wheels are 8)

Personally, I'd go with what they did with the 6N2 GTi like mine - fully coded rubbing strips on the doors and bumpers. Looks good, classy, but you still get a bit of definition to the panels by having the strips there. Think it would look a bit too plain if you smoothed them all down.

Thanks for all the comments :D

Someone on Clubpolo did a photoshop with them smoothed off...

And tbh i quite like it, but then as mentioned, they add alot of character to the 9N, so am still a bit confused. If i were to keep em black id probably have them done in gloss black, so that they match with the shiny b-pillars. But then silver ones would look equally good too. cant really seem to make my mind up

Wheels are 16'' SMC 'H's 7.5in wide. They are growing on me as they are really, dont want to get the centres done now, in some angles the centres look colour-coded 8) bit like this pic.

I like the smoothed pic. Looks different, and euro - which is what your going for right? and if your going to get the black strips painted i think you should get em done same colour as the car. Purely because if i was gunna splash out around £200 to have it done, i dont see much point in getting them done black. But its up to you mate - would be different after all :D

You've done exactly what I've done, colour coded the front and rear lip and mirrors and left the bump strips. I like them like that, breaks the lines up i reckon. The car looks really good with it being so low.

If I were you, I'd tint the windows because it looks really good on silver and goes really really well with the black bump strips. I cant remember how to put a picture on this thing otherwise I'd let you see what mine looks like. I've done the same as you but i've got 17x7.5 wheels and exhaust.

Thanks :D seen your car from your previous post, looks nice mate. 8)

Yeah, im thinking of some tints, but very light ones, im not a huge fan of them tbh.

I was going for a Votex kit and even have most of the stuff, but decided to keep it subtle with as much as standard parts as possible, so changed my mind.
