Hi im new to the site. i have a 51 reg mk 5 polo gti 6n2 and have owned it for about 7 month's now. has any one on here had problems with there gear box's? i have allready had mine rebuilt at 34000 miles and it now needs redoing at 36000. i have being told that the gear box's are toffy and go all the time but can any1 shead some light on things???
i also heard something about the right type of gear box oil for them?

I would get it sorted if the bearing wears out and its the diff bearing it will take the whole box with it. Sometimes garage put 2nd hand boxes in to replace dud ones and then rebuild the dud one, the problem with this is that the 2nd hand box could be on the verge of needing a rebuild anyway.
