My GTI progress thread (Update 31st Mar - For Sale!)

Post by Mouse_GTI »

Went to have a look at it. Got 29k miles, heated leather seats, ex-demo but FSH and serviced every 5k miles. Really is lovely on the inside. There are odd stone chips and scratches (under the door handle) and under the bumpers looks a little rusty and scratched. Anyway he took us out for a drive and it sounded great, smooth and nippy. Wheels corroding but I got no problem with refurbishing them and getting them powerdercoated black. He is taking it up to us on Thursday

Oh and this was the temperature on the way down...

p.s. where is the cheapest place for black badges front and rear?

Rust? you sure?? wouldn't have thought it would have rust on a y plate??

Cymru i'm unsure about leather at the mo think my car needs it to be complete but i hate how you stick to it on long rides and its nasty in winter even with heaters!!

When you say under the bumpers, do you mean on the bumpers or behind them?

The bumpers are plastic so wouldn't have rust on them?

As for black badges, they are obsolete now although there should be some kicking around on E-Bay.

If I was you though, instead of getting a black rear badge which imo doesn't look that good on the Silver cars, I'd colour code the black plastic in between the logo like this

PM me about one

Oh and here's some links to front black badges

It's probably best to contact them to make sure it will fit the Polo before you buy them, but they look like they will
