I l.ike these topics, 'cos its a great excuse for another pic of my first car:

A 1989 Mini Flame Red! I kept it standard save for the chrome Cooper front grille to replace the rusting old black one. (I was a student at the time and couldn't afford any mods).
Last time I saw my old Mini was in the town centre a few months ago, it now has a different (louder) exhaust, Minilite 12" rims and a spread of foglights across the front grille

my first car was a hand me down vw polo 1.0l on a B reg in white - sorry i dont think camera's were invented back then so i havent got any photo's, but in all fairness to her she took one hell of a beating - many a road trip in what was named "the Cosworth" - purely cause of her beast like 1.0L power house engine, that probably pumped out about as much power as a 3 legged rockin horse.
Because of the massive amount of power, i decided it would be a great idea to fit 12 speakers on the rear parcel shelf, re-enforced with 2" thick plywood. Oh yes, that held her down considerably...and more or less guaranteed overtaking to be a no no. ha ha, glad i have a polo now with a tad more power
