Official VW Ipod Connectivity- compatible with 5th gen ipod?

Can anyone confirm that the official VW Ipod connectivity hardware that dealers fit is not compatible with the new 5th generation ipod?

If so, does anyone know when VW will release another updated ipod slot that can work with the new 5th gen?

i dont see why people pay all that money. i was quoted Â£75 to link my ipod up to my sony headunit.

i did it myself for free and bought a wire for 99p to enable me to do it!
