mk2 polo from scun thorpe North Lincolnshire

Post by poloscunny »

Hi guys.....
LOL i never knew there was a polo club forum! found this site while looking for cheap parts. Anyway im Nick from Scun thorpe North Lincolnshire and have a G reg mk2 polo country squareback, i picked it up for next to nothing (£50) with a 8months mot just after xmas this year. Wanted a cheap runabout to get my mk3 ford escort cabriolet off the road for a rebuild, then i went and got into a bit of trouble with the traffic officers so my cabriolet will stay under wraps til next year now due to more points (sigh) and a hefty insurance quote.
Back to the polo, i think the colour is called calypso green, its totally standard apart from blacked out front indicators and rear lights angel eyes spotlights, pioneer H.U. with remote, jbl competition 6x9s and 800w amp with 12"sub. Lol b4 anyone mentions the lack of space and doesnt sound right, it sounds perfect to me, 6x9s dont have the performance of my sub, lol im a bass junky!!
Not too sure i want to spend alot on my polo (my cabriolet is my baby) although a nice set of alloys wouldnt go a miss along with some big bumpers (where from? do mk3 bumpers fit?)and maybe a sports backbox. Not bothered about engine, 90mph seems enough, lol my cabriolet pulls in 135mph (sorry officer) so i need to cure my lead foot disease with a slow 1ltr!
Im very impressed with the modded squarebacks on here (espec the greeny one with big bumpers) i never knew it could be done to a polo!
Thats enough rambling from me, piccys coming shortly.....

All the best

Nick

Does anyone know how to get the factory fitted "country" motiefs off the sides af the rear windows. was thinking off tinting them but if i leave the country emblems on the windows, it'll look pants.
Any ideas?
