Interior Light

Post by panda »

How do I remove the interior light so I can get at the wiring to put in some footwell LED's? Or is there an easier way? Anyone put in footwell lights before?
thanks,

panda.

just been reading on a golf forum that if I wire the red as the + and the blue/grey as the - then it'll come on with the interior lights and even dim. Scared to just pull on the interior light tho, anyone taken it out before?

all very well and good you saying that, but where exactly does the screwdriver go in? I've been out and had a look and cant get it to fit in anywhere, I don't wanna break the damn thing. Any help or pics would be great.

Done it 8)

I used a tiny flat head screw driver, either side of the map reading light, far side, not indside. Just lever the screwdriver out and it pop's out.

Is it held in by clip's rather than screw's does anyone know?

Clips, just pull it hard, or else it won't pop out...

Yeah it's clips, you put the screw driver in about a cm in, from the windscreen on the plastic bit and just basically give it some, and it comes out...

Had mine out to do this...

Yeah they are indeed.

They were originally in my side lights but I think it looked a bit dodgy, so put them in the map lights and brought a 9 LED bulb for the main light.

Looks really nice at night when you're getting out of the car :D
