Sorry if this is in the wrong section and if its been asked before but i have finally managed to polish my 1st BBS rim but even though i was polishing through the grades of paper from 220 through to 2000 (yes i think it was about 8 grades) and then used a polishing kit (borrowed off my mate) i went through the stages with the 3 polishing mops (sisel?, stitched etc etc) and different polishing compound (Grey, Green, Blue etc) all in the correct order but even when i had finished (and they looked very nice) if you look closely at the rim there are still quite a few light scratches on the rim surface !!! Is this normal ? or should i be able to get a good clean scratch free surface good enough to have a shave in ???
If this is the case, can anyone shine a light on where im going wrong and what i need to do ! i even went through the polishing stages again after i had done to see if that was the problem !!!
Any Help would be much appreciated
Cheers Stu
