Who changes their oil?

I was thinking of doing my own oil changes every 5000 miles or so. Wondered what everyone uses. Castrol Edge looks like good stuff and is recommended, but it's really expensive at Â£45 a bottle!

I think I've got Synta Gold from VW but never used it.

Still it should be getting filled up today

golds fully synthetic, its too thin

synta is semi and kicks ass

I changed my oil every 5k, I used Castrol Magnatec 10/40 every so often Makro have deal on castrol oil you could pick up a 4.5 L carton for about Â£14 I just got a couple each time the deal was on. I never used a drop of oil in the 53k I ran the car I suspect the thinner stuff would burn off alittle. My mate had this trouble when he used Mobile 1.

Makro have a deal on this week picked up 4.5L of GTD Magnatec for Â£18 inc vat for my girlfriends car Halfdords are flogging it for Â£26 !!
