Thanks guys :D

Got back at 4 this morning, what a trip!!!!
The drive there took us 26 hours, sticking to the limits all the way, and getting lost a bit in Sweden itself. Saw lots and lots of new polos in germany.
The house we stayed in was excellent, the weather was excellent (-18 on the first day with heavy snow!).
The roads were quite good, covered in snow and ice, but the snow tyres held really well, even started overtaking some of the locals we felt that confident.
Got the car a bit sideways but couldn't keep it there for long before spinning it about 5 times - all on a frozen lake by the way :)
The rally was so so good, MUCH better as a rally than the Rally of GB, which is the only other one I have been to.
Had a few spare days after the rally which we used to mess around in the snow and drive a few places. We towed sledges with the car, I have never been so scared doing 50mph up a hill on a sledge!!!
Went to Norway, which was 10min drive from where we were staying.

The drive back was better than the drive there, making up 8 hours of time, and doing the whole journey, from door to door in 18 hours. Got passed while doing a ton as if we were standing still by a few beemers doing about 155.

Learnt a few things about my car as well.....
1. Trip counter resets @ 2000 miles.
2. Can handle 26 hours solid of driving.
3. The little 1.4 can get the car to a ton (on german autobahns ;)) even with the roofrack FULL of gear, 4 people and a boot FULL of gear.
4. Isn't as tough as I thought :( Ended up in a ditch after meeting a moose in the middle of the road.

Heres a few pics of the car. I will post a link to the other pics when they are uploaded. Didn't get that many pics of the rally cars but gots lots of video. I'll post some clips when we get round to sorting it out if anyone is interested.

Yeh it was excellent!

In places the snow was a metre high, but the roads were ploughed so no probs there.

Pics @ www.whos-crew.co.uk under the Sweden 2003 section.
Not that many rally pics as it was too bloody cold to keep the camera on the ready waiting for a car to come. The rally programmed said (I think, I don't speak swedish!!) that the Polo Super 1600 was going to be there, but I never saw it :(

I made it back in one piece but the Polo never - i forgot to mention that she is infact damaged!! I haven't got a camera at the mo, and my fone doesn't pick up the damage really but I will try and get some pics of it asap.

Bummer,

But sounds like to good far outweighed the bad!

So, you're a bit of a Loeb fan, eh??

Yup it sure did :)
Going to take the Polo round a few places when I have got the time. Get a few quotes. Then decide if it's worth doing it on my insurance.

Luckily I decided to wait until after Sweden before buying my body kit! Was thinking of doing it before xmas.

Not actually :? We just decided to get number 18 because it is our ages, couldn't think of anything else
